To commemorate the Ford Motor Company's 75th anniversary, Lincoln produced a special Diamond Jubilee Edition of the 1978 Continental Mark V. With an incredibly limited production of 5,159 vehicles and available in only two colors, the Diamond Jubilee was an instant collectible.
In addition to the many luxurious details of the standard Marks, most Mark V optional features were standard in this special edition, including the new, digital LED "Miles-To-Empty" fuel gauge. But Diamond Jubilee Marks were replete with unexpected touches. Each came with a leather-bound owner's manual and tool kit, crystal-like inserts within the Lincoln "star" hood ornament, beveled open windows featuring the Diamond Jubilee script, and laminated between the glass was a simulated diamond chip. Owners could even have their initials monogrammed on the doors.
